Now is the time to put your house on the market. If you are thinking that the value of your home will go up the longer you wait, you are probably correct. However, the cost of new home construction is also rising and if you continue to wait it may raise more than the value would increase on the house you are selling resulting in a net loss to you. Habits for a Healthy House

By |2021-03-23T10:31:13-04:00January 25th, 2013|Home Ownership|

Habits for a healthy house. 1 Always run your vented Range Hood every time you cook so that you eliminate Steam, Smoke, & Food Particles that get into the air that can create problems. Stream and cooking in general will create moisture which can breed mold. Also it can help eliminate particulates in the air that could have an effect on people that have asthma or other breathing issues not to mention the dirt/germs that can build up from these particulates overtime. 2 Never Warm up your Car in the Garage with the garage doors closed or even if you have the garage doors open. Carbon Monoxide is a very dangerous gas that can still collect in a confined area and even with the doors open still will collect and takes time to dissipate and most people will close the garage door when leaving and can trap the residual Carbon Monoxide in the garage and can eventually work its way into the home. 3 Wait until Spring time to Paint, have Carpets Cleaned, and even buy New Furniture. As all of these have chemicals that emit by evaporation into the air and you want to be able to ventilate your home which you cannot or would not want to do in the winter time. 4 Always turn on your Exhaust Fan in the Bath especially when taking a shower or running water which will create moisture in the room and most people keep the bathroom door closed which traps the moisture in the room which eventually could lead to mold growth.

No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service

By |2022-10-04T10:54:28-04:00September 3rd, 2011|New Home Features|

You sometimes see that sign in restaurants. While I ‘ve never viewed the sign in a home, there are some who do not want shoes worn in their home. They do not want the wear and tear on the flooring and dirt brought in to the house. That typically means shoes piled up near the door. It can be unsightly and some resort to storing shoes in the garage. The shoes can be cold in the winter and you never know what may crawl in them. [...]
