Building an Easy-Care, Low-Maintenance Home

By |2021-03-09T10:48:42-05:00May 12th, 2015|New Home Features|

Wouldn't having a low-maintenance home be "mentally freeing"? We agree, so selecting products used in the construction of your home which are easy to care for is one of "lenses" we use. Floor coverings are particularly important, because of the long reach. Just as certain carpeting is more stain-resistant, ease of cleaning should be a consideration in tile and hardwood floors, too. Bathrooms are another area where low-maintenance is critical. One-piece sink/countertops eliminate the seam common to drop-in sinks where bacteria can grow undisturbed. While beautiful, tile (and grout!) present more upkeep issues than fiberglass or other 1-piece tub/shower surrounds and shower pans. From tilt-in windows for easy cleaning, to longer lasting products that don't have to be replaced as often, smart choices abound when the goal is reduced maintenance. You might even consider a high-performance air cleaner which traps 99+% of the dust-because you won't have to dust as often!

An open floor plan really pulls entertaining or family life together...

Directing Traffic

By |2021-12-03T11:55:32-05:00April 26th, 2015|New Home Features|

Home buyers told us that walking through rooms to get to adjoining rooms was irksome-especially when normal traffic patterns route you through conversation areas or interrupt views such as constantly walking in front of the TV. Rather than being "wasted space", hallways serve as important transition areas. Take Fine Line Homes' new Abilene house plan. [...]

Silence is golden

By |2021-04-20T16:07:24-04:00April 25th, 2015|New Home Features|

Really? Should you really have to move to another room in your home just to carry on a conversation while the dishwasher is running or when the refrigerator cycles on? Many appliance manufacturers identify an appliance's noise levels by referring to the sound reduction measures they have taken. Of course, the quieter models typically are [...]

It’s All About Options

By |2021-12-03T11:56:35-05:00April 24th, 2015|New Home Features|

The Clarksville is a new plan offered by Fine Line Homes. Outside, optional finishes (stone, shake siding, garage door styles, and entry door profiles) add to the home's natural curb appeal. Still, "options" for most home buyers, means the ability to tailor the home inside for increased livability and style. To the left of the [...]
